Why do I do this to myself?
Doyle was such a fantastic character with amazing potential. His humor, his fascinating background and connection to the theme of redemption, his budding friendship with Angel, and his chemistry with Cordelia were all reasons that I fell in love with him in the nine episodes he was on the show.
I have to admit that Glenn Quinn’s own incredibly sad story and death (just over 10 years ago now) loom large in my mind whenever I watch “Hero.” I know very little about him as a person but if he was anything like Doyle, he deserved more time than he got.
I also think that the ending of “Hero” is one of Joss’ cruelest:
“Is that it? Am I done?”
